Week 17: A deeper dive into personal projects

Hello everybody, it’s Ruby again.

I hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

We did a quick check-in before we gave our speeches about our individual projects to everyone. I have a few options for a project. One may be to revamp a website run by Herbal, Medicine, Naturopathy and Iridology practitioner. I will be using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Another option is to work my own website showcasing photographs I have taken over the years.

We each filled out a sheet about our plans for the projects which followed a project life cycle addressing the points in the image below.

The timeline for our projects is from 27th March to 5th June.

During the session, I compared the site’s layout to The National Institute of Medical Herbalists website. https://www.nimh.org.uk/ I did this to get a feel for the style of websites within this industry, and find a completed site that I can benchmark the site I am building against. On the NIMH website, I liked the overall layout and that each page has a different background image for the headings.

It was one of the staff members’ birthday last week and to celebrate, we each had a slice of Victoria Sponge cake. It was tasty!

I’m looking forward to next week’s session and I’ll see you on another blog post!
