Hello everyone, it’s Ruby again. I hope you’re having a lovely week so far.
We had our usual check-in before Paula asked about our homework which was to give a speech or presentation about a topic we’re interested in and doing my Scratch challenge which was to make each letter of my name move. I made them move by pressing each letter of my name on the keyboard. Paula said it was creative. I also changed the background on my ‘Aquarium’ project to one with bubbles in it.
Paula asked us to make a guessing number game using Scratch blocks. The user has to guess a number between 1 and 50. If the host number is greater than the answer, it will say that the guess is too high. If the host number is less than the answer, it will say that the guess is too low. The user tries again until they get the correct host number. It was a bit challenging to make, but it was fun at the same time.
At the end of the session, we gave our speeches to everyone. I did mine on cooking and my experience with it. After I finished, Paula said my presentation had a good beginning and a story. I also kept eye contact with the audience, but she said I needed my presentation to have a proper ending.
I’m looking forward to the next week’s session and I’ll see you on another blog post!
